Boardman Road and Klingner Road, Kippa-Ring - intersection upgrade

Council is upgrading the intersection of Boardman Road and Klingner Road in Kippa-Ring to improve safety and reduce traffic delays.

This is a key intersection in the Redcliffe Peninsular road network. It provides a key connection between the Peninsular and the wider road network. Users of the intersection will be aware that peak hour congestion occurs at the intersection, and there are safety concerns for road users, in particular cyclists and pedestrians.

The project is being jointly funded by Moreton Bay Regional Council and the Australian Government.

Project features

The upgrade will involve:

  • upgrading the existing roundabout to a traffic signal-controlled intersection
  • installing additional traffic lanes to increase the capacity of the intersection
  • installing cycle lanes, improved footpaths, and pedestrian crossings to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
  • landscaping around the intersection and installing additional street lighting.

Offset planting will be done within the Redcliffe Peninsular region to replace any trees removed during construction.

Some on-street parking will be permanently removed to accommodate the upgrade. In response to community feedback, Council has made every effort to retain as much on-street parking as possible.
